Bring spring into your cocktail with this floral lilac gimlet made with Black Fox Gin #4. The perfect way to say goodbye winter.
2 oz Black Fox Gin #4 (Seasonal)
1 oz Lilac Syrup
1 oz lemon juice
1 cup lilac flowers, stems removed
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
A few blackberries for colour (optional)
Combine lilac flowers and sugar in a sealable container and allow to infuse for 24 hours. Add mixture to a small saucepan with 1 cup water and berries if using, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, and strain a second time through a coffee filter. Store in the refrigerator. Let cool completely before adding to the cocktail.
Add gin, lilac syrup, and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with lilac flowers.
