Oaked Gin-gerbread Cookies


4 cups Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Ground Ginger
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Ground Cloves
1/4 tsp Ground Allspice
1/8 tsp Ground Nutmeg
1/2 tsp Salt
2 Tbsp Butter
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
1 Egg
1/2 cup Molasses
1/3 cup Apple Sauce
1/4 cup + 1/2 tsp Black Fox Oaked Gin


Preheat oven to 350º. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, spices, and salt to a large bowl.

In another bowl cream butter and sugars, add egg, and mix to combine. Add molasses, apple sauce, and Black Fox Oaked Gin. Add dry ingredients to create a firm but soft dough. If too sticky add more flour, if too stiff add more gin. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 mins.

Roll out the dough and cut it into shapes with your favourite cookie cutters. Bake for 9-11 mins. Cool and transfer to wire rack.

Once cooled, decorate with your favourite icing.
