    To make the simple syrup add equal parts of sugar and water to a saucepan and stir over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.

    Let cool completely before adding to the cocktail.

    Prepare berries halved and add to a large wine glass.

    Add gin, simple syrup, grapefruit juice, and wine.

    Add ice, leaving 1 inch of space at the top of the glass.
