We had an awesome experience and Black Fox distillery. Such a beautiful property to come and relax at and sample some gin. The staff was very informative and the atmosphere was so welcoming. The whisky was also great but the gin stole the show for us. Definitely couldn’t leave without a bottle of Haskap gin and Sage gin! They will be very much enjoyed this summer! 😍

A Bold Expression of Saskatchewan Terroir
Crafted for those who appreciate structure, intensity, and a touch of unpredictability, our Secale Cereale Single Grain Whisky is a bold expression of authentic craftsmanship. Created with 100% Secale cereale (rye) grain grown on our farm, this spirit delivers the bright, spicy character that rye lovers crave.
As the Worldwide Whisky Producer of 2025, our approach to single grain whisky in Canada is entirely guided by terroir. Refined by maturation in new oak casks, this whisky is aged outdoors under extreme Saskatchewan prairie skies, enduring remarkable temperature swings from -40°C to +40°C. The natural character of the grain combined with our climate imparts a lively energy to the whisky, proving that rye can be both vibrant and irresistibly smooth.
Tasting Notes & Profile
Nose: Vanilla, toasted oak, and warm spice layered with caramelized candied apple.
Palate: A bright and expressive profile unfolds, where warming spice and smooth toffee meet the vibrancy of clove, green apple, citrus zest, and a whisper of fresh green grass. A gentle wave of black pepper adds to the complexity.
Finish: A final flourish of lingering spice and lemon curd gives way to dry oak, leaving a refined, lasting finish that speaks to the rhythm of the land and the seasons.
The Art of Dilution
Each cask of our Secale Cereale is meticulously tasted to ascertain the precise level of dilution for peak flavour and aroma. We bottle just above that optimal point, ensuring that whether it is sipped neat or with a splash of water, the whisky remains at its most expressive. Furthermore, every release is individually bottled to preserve the distinct character shaped by its specific barrel, offering subtle flavour variations united by the unmistakable Black Fox signature.
Certificate of Provenance
Terroir shapes every bottle of Black Fox Canadian Whisky — from the distinct character of the land to the extremes of weather that define it. On top of your bottle, you will find a copper coin engraved with a unique serial code. Enter your code on our website to access your bottle's Certificate of Provenance, revealing the rare and distinctive details that make your whisky unlike any other.
How to Enjoy
Because we bottle this spirit precisely at its most expressive point, it is highly recommended to be savoured neat or with a single splash of water.
