What Is Single Grain Whisky?

While single malt is made exclusively from malted barley, single grain whisky allows us to highlight the extraordinary characteristics of other grains grown on our fifth-generation farm. The name Triticosecale is derived from the Latin names of its parent grains: wheat (Triticum) and rye (Secale cereale). This distinctive heritage imparts an exceptional flavour profile and a robust structure.

We believe in terroir and the provenance of place. This whisky is sustainably handcrafted and aged outdoors under extreme Saskatchewan prairie skies, enduring temperature fluctuations from -40°C to +40°C. To preserve its richest flavours and retain the natural compounds essential for a captivating experience, our whiskies are never chill-filtered.

Tasting Notes & Profile

Nose: Crème brûlée gently caramelized alongside freshly ground cinnamon and aromatic clove, brightened by a hint of citrus zest.

Palate: A velvety wave of butterscotch with softly baked cherry, accented by delicate anise, cinnamon, and clove. A subtle mid-palate dustiness evokes sunlit harvest fields.

Finish: Warm spice and sweet echoes persist, softly fading into a whisper of white pepper.
